General Election
Results - 14 April 1961 |
General elections were held in Saint Lucia on 14 April 1961. The number of seats in the Legislative Council was increased by two to 10.
A total of 24 candidates contested the election. Two parties, the St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) and the People's Progressive Party (PPP) presented 10 candidates each, and there were four independents.
The result was a victory for the Saint Lucia Labour Party, which won nine of the 10 seats. |
