Melbourne A. Hector was a Jamaican politician and a former parliamentarian in the West Indies Federal Parliament.

Career

Hector served as a Member of the House of Representatives of the West Indies Federation from 1958 to 1962. In the 1958 federal election, as a candidate for the Jamaica Labour PArty (JLP), Hector, a merchant tailor but relatively unknown to politics, he crushed the popular and well-known People's National Party's (PNP) Leacroft H.U. Robinson by 3,177 votes (4.1 per cent).
