Curriculum Connections |

In this curriculum, students cover the following areas:
- understanding power, legitimate authority, the creation, maintenance and change of government and how governments can be kept responsive to citizens;
- seeing issues from another’s point of view;
- understanding the strengths and challenges inherent in connections among nations in the world;
- understanding and evaluating tensions between national interests and global priorities, and between economic competition and interdependence;
- development of the will to exercise one’s civic duties, including voting and engagement in civic affairs; and
- ongoing engagement in service learning which helps to deepen and demonstrate learning while developing a strong sense of civic responsibility
