Bermuda General Election
Results - 17 December 2012 |
General elections were held in Bermuda on 17 December 2012 for all 36 seats in the House of Assembly using a first-past-the-post system.
Political Parties & Candidates
Nomination Day was 29 November 2012. A total of 87 candidates from two parties contested the election, with the One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) and the Progressive Labour Party (PLP) each presenting a full slate of 36 candidate. There were also 15 independent candidates.
Results
The result was a victory for the One Bermuda Alliance (OBA), which won 19 of the 36 seats in the House of Assembly. Incumbent Premier Paula Cox lost her Devonshire North West seat, and later resigned as leader of the Progressive Labour Party (PLP).
